- Prior to the installation of your hair extensions, we recommend you seal your weft to minimize shedding and add longevity to your hair
- Co-wash hair with only conditioner before installing hair; optional, but recommended
- Comb through hair prior to washing to remove any tangles
- Shampoo hair once every 2-3 weeks using sulfate-free shampoo. Avoid alcohol-based products to avoid drying out the hair
- Do not pull, yank or scrunge hair up in your hands during wash. Rough treatment to the hair is not necessary in order to achieve a thorough clean
- Always condition and apply a good leave-in conditioner after washing. When applying conditioner, comb hair, starting with the ends, and work your way up to the scalp being sure to avoid root/weft tension
- Allow the hair to air dry; avoid blow drying hair– excessive heat is damaging to the hair
- Prior to sleep, wrap hair or braid hair into one loose braid and sleep on satin pillows or with a satin cap. NEVER go to bed with WET HAIR
- Do not punch a needle through, pierce or cut the wefts, this leads to an increase in shedding & lessens the quality of the hair
- It is important that you do not over process when dying the hair; it will make it brittle, dry, cause shedding and matting and diminish the quality of the hair. If you do not know what you are doing, please consult a professional
To prevent dryness, apply a natural oil twice weekly prior to shampooing. Oils left on the hair overnight on the ends are very effective. Hair extensions do not have the benefit of your own natural scalp oils, so adding natural oils into your hair care regimen will help replace those necessary oils.
It is imperative to utilize products that restore and maintain virgin hair natural qualities. Sulfate-free and silicone free hair products are a must. Keeping your hair conditioned regularly helps to avoid excessive use of hair products. Conditioning your hair is most important. Wide-tooth combs, natural ingredients such as Virgin Olive Oil, Argan Oil, a good conditioner and water are the best tools and products for maintaining the hair.
